Error Other | 1974 S mint mark. RPM?

I can't find anything to match this up with. Has anyone seen this particular error on the mint mark? The closest I can find is VV MMS 09 doubled.

MD and a hit... You have the doubled MM punch by the looks of it MMS-009 http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20D...k%20Styles.htm which was used on the small date 74S

Jim, is the doubled mint mark punch you are referring to the same one as the broken mm punch?

I think the broken MM punch you are thinking of is a D.

It's MMS-009 with MD and a hit. Nothing really good, just a teaser.

No it is a different one... I was thinking a Stage B of the doubled punch http://varietyvista.com/Doubled%20Mi...f%201974-S.htm but I am not sure due to the damage to the MM!!!

Roller, here is the thread I should have looked it up this morning to see if the MM's even looked similar and I still have not compared them, but this is the thread I was thinking about

Anyone have a small date 1974 S to compare serif's with mine? I'm not sure what these serifs look like. This one seems to have a split on the top of it. I don't want to call it a notch yet as I'm not to sure it is an RPM. Copper Coins has only one listing for this one. And nobody else has one that I know of. I need some info on

going now to see if they look similar, might answer my own question

Edit: I looked and I can't tell, Sheila's MM has some hits. I guess maybe 74S small dates have a doubled MM, a broken punch and a RPM, I'm still confused

I was thinking of the broken D MM punch we see a lot of on the 79D... The coin in Dinkys thread is the doubled/defective punch that I think Shielas is... Thanks for that link!!!

Thank you Jim, so going back to that thread... Doc Dan's was found to in fact be the same as coppercoins.com RPM, Dinky Dan's was determined to be the damaged mint mark punch but then later on Dinky Dan actually found the RPM. So Sheila's looks like the damaged mint mark punch and the damaged mint mark punch and the doubled/defective punch are the same... whew... is that correct?

Doc Dans is the CC RPM... I am not sure if Dinky Dans was confirmed as a RPM or not by one of the pros??? The doubled/defective punch are one in the same - whew - is correct
