    Error Other | 1968 D invisible clip

The title says it all. Fun post (maybe controversial).

Hummm.... I can't see what is invisible? But, if it's not a rim cud, then wonder what it is?

The clip is invisible because the coin is in round.

Just looking at the reverse pic where it only has a low spot on the rim does look like it might be from a tiny clip, a clip so small that when struck it makes the coin round. I notice these looking at coins in clear tubes.

The obv pic looks a little different but still think it might be a tiny clip.

The same thing that causes a big one. Only smaller.

Right. Or too close to the other blank. Didn't "get" you Viv. Just having some fun.

Viv, You want a highly technical explanation? The hole thingamajob was in the right spot but the gizmo pushing the gadget that increments the dumaflage using a widget didn't scootch the strip enough. LOL
