Error Other | 1968D - is this a minor straight clip?

This Lincoln cent has had a rough life... but looking at the reverse it looks like it could be a straight clip. I've never found a clipped planchet before so seeing this raised some questions. I realize the condition might make it difficult to tell for sure. The obverse does not look as defined as the reverse does, maybe because the obverse rim also has PSD. Also, the edge photo made me wonder if that's how a clip looks, or does it lean more toward being rubbed on the sidewalk

Wow, it's like you were reading my mind. Don't know much about them either and am wondering about the edge being so ragged also.
(made me think of it being dragged on a sidewalk or file as rough as it is.)

It will be interesting to see what "TKO" (The Knowledgeable Ones) have to say.

This appears to be damage (Post strike) The photos of the edge seem convincing that it was scraped and the fact that the obverse doesn't show the same degree of a clip also proves to me that this is nothing but PSD.

As they say Cliff... great minds think alike Since I've never seen a clip in person, I was unsure about the edge of the coin too. I tried to find an example of the edge on the internet and couldn't find it.

Bob, thank you very much for taking a look! I really appreciate your explanation! I looked all over the place for a photo of what the edge is supposed to look like, now I know it must look like a clean cut!

Sometimes that's a good thing... Especially if you can't duck
