A couple hundred pics later, this was the best I could do. I think the last pic shows it best. See what ya think.I was thinking that might be it but that means it has enough displacement that when handled it got skin oil on the main part of the bust and not the smaller section (front part) as if the front part sunk (raised on die sunk on coin)??? or the back main part raised (sunk on die raised on coin)???
I know the front part is lower in the first place but that tone pattern looks like something must be very shifted to make the toning change so distinctly along it.Comment

Very nice angled shots Jon! Those pics definitely show the raised area of the die crack and the area below Lincoln's eye! Sorry it was a no go on the UDC, but cool you heard back from JC already! You did the right thing to send it to JC for his review though... I would have done the same thing if I found one like this!Comment

Too bad Jon. Thought you had a good one there.
Did JC give any guidelines for inclusion in the files?Comment

That is cool looking... To me it looks like what could be a RIDB but doesn't really fit the definition??? There does appear to be shifting occurring??? I can see the shift thru the bear, lips, corner of the nose and the section just north of the corner of the nose... May also be a slight shift at the west corner of the eye brow just north of the corner of the eye??? Is that a crack along the rim north of WE???Jim

There is definitely a lot going on with this one! I could not tell for sure what the area you're asking about was, it almost looked more like a plating issue of some sort. That is cool looking...
