Error Other | Did Lincoln fall through the crack?

OK, just something to get you looking. Nothing really special about this one. Found what appears to be a double rim from about 270 to 330 degrees on the obverse. Flipped it over, had to look very hard for Lincoln. Depending on the light, all you can find are knees and head. Not sure if it abrasion or struck through. Columns are sharp.

Cool find! The missing Lincoln is from die abrasion. Looks like you also have a floating roof!

    From our Glossary:

Floating Roof: When a die is over-polished, the devices are often reduced in size, or in extreme cases, completely removed from the die. A Floating Roof is the name given when parts of the memorial building are polished away, making it appear the roof is floating in mid-air. See also Abraded Die, and No FG. Thanks, I didn't even pick up the floating roof.

I call this an " Absent Abe." Often seen with a floating roof and no FG.

Cool... Interesting that you still have the FG... All of the work must have been central to the die... If you look at an early die state 70 you will notice how thin the columns are on your coin... Scroll down to WDDO-022 http://doubleddie.com/823797.html and look how thick the columns are... Another thing I noticed is that there is very little if any abrasions/scratches showing on your rev... The mint worker actually did a good job at polishing the die!!!
