    Error Die Crack | SKH-1c-1958D-10 Nice wheat Spike Head found today.

    Found a nice looking Spike Head today that JC originally found.

      Thanks Viv!! This one was giving me fits on pics. I think it's a much earlier die state than JC's and the cracks were much finer and tougher to see, even though there is a nice chip. Yeah, this also came from the loose box of mixed dates.

        Yeah I can tell the die crack is thin, but you did a great job on the pics Jon! You know with searches like you are doing right now, sometimes the best find is in the last handful of cents!

          Nice find Jon... I agree yours is a much earlier die stage than the sample http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cen...ads-1950-1959/ Not only how less develped the cracks are (yours has no crack from the west arm of the Ws tip to the rim) but also notice the die wear... On the E of WE yours has no sign of the wear toward the rim like the sample... I think they were having die alignment issues in 1958 The poorly developed rim on yours starts at the E of WE and goes CCW to about the 7:30 position... On the sample coin it starts near the D of GOD and goes CW to 3:00 position!!!
