LOL... no I haven't seen that movie but I can image what they look like! Pretty soon they will be running it with their feet like Fred Flintstone's car

Yabba dabba do a nice lamination found by you Both sides have rim to rim... The lines run rim to rim and are the edges of the laminations beginning to split open... If not pulled from circulation they would eventually open and most likely lose metal... The large rippled incuse area on the rev is where the metal has fallen off... By the color of that area it has been gone a long time as it appears to be the same brown as the rest of the coin... The large area also looks like it makes it to the rim... The section to the SE appears rippled and I can see what looks like the edges splitting... Nice pics and areal purtty coin!!!

JF, good thing I can still find some Flinstones online. Used to watch them in Europe. Funny of all things, I didn't speak English. So watched them later when I came to the States. Also love Laurel and Hardy (not cartoons).

Nice observation notes on everything. "The lines run rim to rim" <--- is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I put some verdi-care on it. Is the splitting going to stop? or is that, who knows?
Well, if not, then I have part of its growing, or aging years in a picture. LOL.

Actually, I call my truck the Flinstone truck. It's not that old. I wish I had a 50-55 Ford, where I can actually see --here is the radiator, the alternator, the starter, the engine, and the spark plugs just poking up at you. My 1998 you have to pull the tire off to get to the 6th spark plug. And through some repairs just in the past 2 yrs (it held for this long), mom was trying to tell me to get another car. I said----- when the tires fall off, that's when I'll sell it.
Been through to many things. Too many memories and roads traveled. Even been on a boat to Sweden, and American Indian trails, and many others.

The lines are fine... Just part of the lamination... Normally those are at the edge... Since it is pulled from circulation and as long as it is kept in a holder the laminations should stay exactly as they are... Verdi-care was a great idea... That will prevent oxidation of any contaminates that may have gotten into the layers exposed by the loss of metal or the splits... I think there should be a show with the Flinstones and Laurel/Hardy together Imagine the trouble that Fred and Laurel/Hardy could get into... Throw in the 3 Stooges and uhoh

First new car I ever bought was a 76 Chevette... Had to change the timing belt every 12000 miles or take a chance on it stripping out running down the highway... At least the engine wasn't a zero clearance... These days if you loose a timing belt the engine is toast and all for a 20 dollar part!!!
