Going through an old box of stuff I have had set aside for awhile and finding things I forgot I had. Thought this is a pretty cool lam on an old wheat cent! The area at the bow tie looks like part of the lam that has been smoothed over.
You should be able to zoom into the full obverse and see the lam better.
Thank you Rowdy! When I first got started with this hobby... Roger and Will often had to tell me to "set this one aside until your photography skills improve" so this old box has some of those in it and some other ones I couldn't figure out. It's almost like opening presents!
Thank you Larry J., Jim and Sheila for taking a look! And thanks so much Jim for your nice comments about my pics! Jim, I have the Ray System set up the way Ray instructed me to do it and the Jansjo's stay at 10 and 12 with white paper diffuser - it's so easy I can't believe it! I may have to move the lights around a tad for shiny Shields but the camera is what makes them look so nice! I really love it!
That's a very nice lam and fantastic Ray system pics!! Usually when a lam is that deep, the impurities show through on the opposing side but the reverse looks clean.

You are doing outstanding with your pics... Ray knows his stuff!!!

I have seen that also on some lams but thought it was just me I've got a theory on the impurities but that will have to wait for it's own thread!!!

Thank you Jon and Mark! It's funny how things people say remind you of stuff - it was Dinky Dan talking about the old box of Lincolns he just got from the bank, and he's finding 80 something RPM's and now the awesome looking 1980 DD! I thought... "hey, where did I put that old box!" Thank you Dan for the reminder!
Ray is absolutely amazing - I have put off getting a Ray System because I don't know anything about cameras and I thought there is no way I can take a good photo! Ray sent me instructions and helped me via PM's to get everything set up and now after 6 years of struggling with photos - all I have to do is push a button! Thank you Ray!
