Not really. I'm surprised there are not more. You see smaller breaks all the time on the bridge of the nose and on shield obverses, this is a weak spot for some reason, not unlike the corners of the memorial. You can find cracks on shield obverses from the hair to the bridge of the nose quite often, which is the beginning of a break and then moving on to a possible IDB.
From JC: "Hi Jon, interesting but I'm leaning towards this being a defective Planchet. It might be worth running it by Mike Diamond.
I’ll pass on it for now.
JC"
I'll PM Mike and see if he has time to take a look at it.
I dont think its a defective planchet. Its a die chip. You know how incused lettering sometimes doesnt look like it is, probably what JC just did. It might look incused to him

The pics weren't that great by the time I resized them, the clarity of the pics I sent to him isn't nearly as good as what I posted here and they aren't all that.... Any suggestions? I just use paint when I downsize them. I'm getting close to being able to get a setup from Ray but didn't know if there may be a better way or program to downsize the pics and retain decent resolution.
