Error Other | 1983 P nickel with what appears to be possible reeding on edge

I am wondering if this may be a mint error or maybe from a machine of some type? What do you guys think?

That's pretty cool, Sheila and great pics. Nice to hear from you. This is only a guess but maybe it was in a bezel that had that design on the edge, it looks smooth otherwise. Let's see what the smart folks say.

Thank you. So, for now, I am able to do some work. But as life keeps me busy, it is hard to stay on task lol. I bought some rolls of nickels from a local store here. This is what I have found so far. It seems like I have seen an article on a nickel with reeds around it. I can’t recall where I had seen it or what. It just doesn’t not look like normal reading to me. But, it is the same pattern all the way around.

Some rolling machines will leave marks like this. That would be my guess.
