This is a raw LMC from my collection which is unusual.
It is a No Date LMC which has been Struck Off-Center with a Chain Strike (Lincolns Head exhibits a straight edge) and also exhibits a Clashed Die on the Obverse.
DEF: The Chain Strike error coin is a variation of the off center struck coin. It is an off center struck coin with a special appearance.
The Chain Strike will appear to be an off center struck coin, approximately 40-60% off center. The die struck portion of the error coin will have a severely straight edge shape to it. This, due to having been stuck in a press which had two off center blanks partly in the same collar.
They are touching in the collar and when struck, they each will receive part of the design of the dies.
If you can locate the other struck portion it would be very important as they are highly collectible.
