1946-D RPM#1 or #7

Hello Folks, I thought I would post some pick just for comments to see where everyone else is with these two coins. I have the books and CD's, looked at coppercoins and I just cannot quite put a finger on which is which because of die state. The mintmark position is almost dead on for both of these listed RPM's.

Coin (1) has some of the marker's for MM-07/RPM#7 That Bob lists.

Coin (2) has a reverse die that is VLDS and an obverse that is EDS..

I would say RPM-007. The upper serif position of the secondary RPM is a determining factor on this variety.

Bob - Think both are #7?

Sorry...never finished the reply. No, the first one is RPM-007, the second is RPM-001.

OK. Great - That is the way I was leaning also. The #1 without marker's and the #7 with extra through me for a loop. I've looked at these coins over and over the last few weeks - they began to look the same!!!!! Thanks Bob
