    Possible RPM?

    Got this little guy in change the other day. Looks like it's spent some time "on the road", or rather in the road...but the mintmark sure looks to have a split on the top serif. Didn't see any listings on Coppercoins or Coneca for 1974-S, does this look like it might have a chance to be an RPM or could it just be a damaged punch?

      It looks similar to RPM #4 in The RPM Book (first edition), but I cannot be positive because the area under the S is shaded on both pictures. Sometimes with well worn coins it is difficult to be absolutely certain without an in hand analysis.

          I can't quite tell either. I am not sure is the upper serif is split, or if it's just circulation damage that seems prevalent on the coin.

              I agree with the pros... The split could be PSD... You should send this one in to be sure... Nice eyeballin!!!
