I would advise not sending coins to Mr. Potter for he does have a habit of holding on to coins for an inordinate period of time and has also been known for not returning coins sent to him. He has had five of my coins that were never returned and all of them discovery pieces. It has been 7 years now and though I have tried to have them returned, all I get is silence from his end.

I second Chris's statement regarding Ken (not that I know him personally or anything). I waited more than 5 weeks just to get a reply email from him. He told then (in April) that the turnaround date for attributing was over 6 months. I passed on the idea, being brand spanking new to the hobby, I too didn't completely trust him.

Hold on BJ, he might find them yet. It took two years before he got my coins back to me, but he got them back to me. Although I must admit, 7 years is pretty long. Mine fell behind his copying machine if I remember correctly. Perhaps yours got stuck inside?

That's ridiculous. I'm peeved at ANACS for having my coins in grading beyond my 5-day turnaround right now. Point is, I've never quite gotten what his "prestige" is. First off, his VCR numbers mean absolutely nothing to me. Just another senseless attribution system. Secondly, if he's that irresponsible for other people's belongings, then perhaps he shouldn't be doing attributions in the first place.

Point is, if you have a backlog of "6 months", then maybe you should say enough's enough. When you start stacking orders *and* priorities, something's bound to get lost or misplaced.

Andrew, I'm not sure if I should say this, but I do believe he is/was physically ill for awhile. Not to excuse or pardon anyone, but I know that when life deals you with a physical illness you sometimes have to prioritize.

Not that I was being unfair, I was just making a generalized statement. Not just with Ken in particular, but I've seen it happen with numerous people. But like BJ and Wendell stated, if in fact he's been physically ill for 2-7 years and unable to return items (or process them), then I stand by my original text.

To be fair to Ken, I haven't once asked him where my coin is and whether I could have it back. I am being patient with him over this, and hope it will just show up one day.

And that's how it was with me. I knew he was sick with cancer and all and the coins I sent him weren't very valuable. Eventually he got it done, and I'm okay with that. I did call him and talk with him a few times, and he always had something good to say.

                    Why Not Wexler?

                    Hi Charles,
Any reason that you dont send them to John Wexler?
I send him stuff and hes very quick to return it.
James Wiles (CONECA) also returns my stuff pretty quickly too.
I mean I like Ken too but I dont want to wait that long for anything.
