    1995 Doubled Die

Well, it only took 17 years...but here it is!

I almost fell out of my chair when I put the loupe to this 1995 cent. I remember when they were first discovered and everybody was looking for them. Even USA Today had it on the cover.
I went through my cash register till daily, lifted up couch cushions, picked pennies up off the ground, examined every 1995 cent I could over the years and never found one until I pulled one from a bank roll last week.
This was the variety that got me back into variety collecting and coins in general. Cant believe I finally found one after all of these years!

Nice find...and not as common as we are lead to believe when it comes to finding them in circulation

Awesome! That must be an amazing and satisfying feeling. No matter what, you didn't give up and were finally rewarded for your perseverance. How cool is that? I can certainly relate to the "almost falling out of my chair" feeling. Rare as it is for most of us, finding major's like this is what really gives this hobby some kick.

Nice! This one is definitely a fall out of your chair find...it's an unmistakable DDO the instant you look at it up close. In fact, whenever I want to explain to a friend what I'm "looking for" when I go through all the pennies they see in my house, I hand them this one and a loupe. It might not get them all excited like one of us, but if an untrained eye can see the difference it's definitely a major variety! Congrats!
