    1960-D/D East

Possibly #37? This one's a little circulated and tougher to see.

Doc: Or you might try 039? I haven't done an overlay for this one yet, but You might check.
Richard S. Cooper Some have asked about my images I use, and I'm glad to say I've completed a DVD of these. Ask if you are interested. Newer members like these.

Overlay with #39 didn't match. Mine is a tad closer to the date.

I think it is 1960D-1MM-083. I know there is no image on coppercoins. But in the RPM book on page 172 it looks like the same die number.

The broken line on the RPM vertically makes me think this is it.

Thanks coop. What about the lack of serif split on my coin? Heavy circulation made it invisible?

There is a strong hit on the lower part of the mint mark. Still waiting for a image on coppercoins.com Then we will know. I don't even have this one.

I think if he checks the markers on a early die state RPM#52. That is his coin

#52 on CC states it has split serifs. I don't see any on mine. I also do not see any photos of any die state on CC to check for markers. Can anyone describe what to look for? Also, on my coin, I can see the outline of the curved portion of the D to the east. I know its faint, but I believe it is there.

First of all it's Southeast, and we always check the position no matter what the mintmark looks like because of die state.
The closest for position is #52, I have included in my pics of 1960-D RPM#52 Stage "B" and Stage "E". The serifs are very faint with a perfect mintmark let alone after circulation damage. Try to compare these:

Interesting now that I look at these together, they are a little off from one another and they BOTH have the marker's for there die stage.?????? HMMM Dr Dave may have a new one OR I do!!!
I'm glad I looked at these!!!

I will post pics of my copy of 60-D RPM#83 in a second, The position is in correct if I remember correctly.

This coin is 1960-D RPM#83. Not a Southeast.

Thanks eaxtellcoin and coop. Overlay matches #52, not #83.
