Found this in another of those "unsearched" eBay lots. I feel this could very well be an EDS of the 1930P-1DO-001 on the coppercoins website. The last pic shows an up close view of where I believe shows the beginning of the die crack shown on the MDS coin on the site. Tell me what you think.
Could this be a DDO?

Sean, In regard to the last photo, it looks like the top left corner of the E is dented. Could the extra stuff to the NW be from a hit on that corner? Might need a different angle to see it better. All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. Offer not valid in New Jersey.Comment

Looks like a mild class 6 to me, although the surface appears to be damaged, so I can't properly attribute this oneComment

Here are some different angle shots of the "E". Notice the corner is protruding not indented as a hit would be."If Free Speech stops when someone gets offended, it is not really Free Speech."Comment

Ah, the "damage" in the corner I was seeing in the original pic disappeared in the new photos. Good luck with the attribution. All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. A couple of things here. It is about impossible to properly attribute a coin this worn and damaged, especially a class 6. Secondly, one should never assume a variety based on a marker. IMHO, this is not the DDO-001.Bob Piazza

Bob, I appreciate the input. The date is what made me originally think it was a DDO. I then went to CC to look for marker info. I surprised there was only one DDO listed. The only marker on the site was the die crack coming from the area I pointed out on my coin. Seeing that it is believed that the coin on CC was MDS, and comparing it to the reverse of mine, it appeared to be an earlier state of the crack. I was using CC to match up, not relying on the markers or in this case the only marker."If Free Speech stops when someone gets offended, it is not really Free Speech."Comment

I understand Sean, and being that there is only one Doubled Die listed on the site, I can see how you applied your diagnostics. With that being said, it would still be about impossible to properly (and that's the key here) attribute your coin to the one listed based on its condition.Bob Piazza

I think it is more about my photographs with my crappy equipment. The obverse has quite a bit of red poking out from the brown that is taking over the coin. I am not a professional grader by any means, but am told I often undergrade my coins. To me it would grade around F12."If Free Speech stops when someone gets offended, it is not really Free Speech."Comment
