    Sean and Eric,
I'm no novice when it comes to the use of acetone and verdi-gone guys. I use both generously and often on my coins and neither helped this coin. The stuff is like cement. Like I said...what a shame.

Too bad Rock. It is a very nice RPM, and one that is hard to find.

Nice find there hasfam. You may want to try xylene and let it soak for a while. It dissolves different resins and stuff than acetone. May be worth a try and I don't think it will affect any value it may have. My disclaimer is that I am not expert on this type of stuff.

Hey Rock. Try some goo gone. It looks like glue or some kind of gunk to me. Like it could come off.

Worth a try. Ill take it off your hands if you want to sell it. I seen the one Chris was selling after it was sold already

          Very nice find!!!!

Rock- When all else fails, stick it in your pocket with change and cary it around for a week or two. No joke- this will naturally wear down the corrosion or whatever it is. It's safe and the very, very worst case scenario- you'll end up with a problem coin that is half a grade lower. I do this all the time and then send the coin in to be slabbed and have never had an issue! (It's what coins were meant to do)

Chris, I actually thought about doing that today. Whatever I do it can't make it any worse than it already is. Nothing to lose on this. But the idea of having it in my pocket and fiddling with it for a couple of weeks seems like a good idea.
