This was just a playfull little joke so don't think to hard about it. The new Lincoln cent is suppose to be out Feb. 12th last that I heard. We'll see though.
Geez, what if they did a short run of the 2009 with the memorial, and then switched to the new design, making the first old design more scarce. If you have some 2009 rolls, msg me.
I figured I would post this coin here because it kind of fits. I ran across this 1985 and there was ONE bubble on the obverse, can you guess where it's located. Tell me I'm wrong and it's really what we hope to find.
Seriously though, try pushing down on that spot with a wooden tooth pick. If it does collapse, then you know it is a gas bubble. If it does not collapse then my second guess would be a die chip. The shape is wrong for an extra ear lobe.
