    1983 d rpm

Hello all I have found what appears to be an rpm for i see some splitting in the top and bottom serif and with what appears to be an extra "d" back east within the mintmark. I have checked copper coins for all the die markers and compared it with the other listing but there is far from a match. Could this be a unlisted one?

Sorry, but I see nothing that makes me think this is a legitimate rpm. It appears to be a machine doubling issue which can be incredibly frustrating and confusing for almost all of the 80's series zinc cents. Most of the '83-d rpm's I've seen are tilted/rotated types that exhibit minor split serf's and I'm not seeing those on your coin. Keep searching though and hopefully a real one will turn up soon!

I had an '83D that looked almost just like this one. I sent it to Bob. Result: plating issue, not an RPM

I agree with both answers...looks like MD and plating issues

I see all. Thanks for the answers. Didn't think it'd be machine doubling and plating issues but now i knows thanks.
