1990 p doubled eye?

Hello all. Been searching today and something caught my eye. I have what looks like a doubled eye but i doubt it is but either way i just want to know what may have caused it to look like this? Thoughts?

It is likley a die gouge or plating issue. Doubled eye lids occured mainly during the wheat cent and early memorial cent era.

Yes, I made the same comment on a similar post. It is most likely a gouge.

From what the OP has arrows pointing to, this is not a gouge. He is pointing to the eye, not the eye lid. It is the actual design element for that area. It is easier to see this on EDS coins.

I think i will agree that it may be a plating issue or soem wierdly place die gouge. for i have not seen this line as part of a the design ever before but im also leaning with mustbebob on this so thank you all for the comments

This is really not rocket science. All you have to do is look at other coins. It is part of the design and based on the wear of the die, it does affect how clearly you see it. I have attached photos below of coins from 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 that show this detail on the eye to varying degrees based on the wear. Remember...just because yo haven't seen it before, does not mean it doesn't exist...right??
