On the fence with this one. 1987-D RPM?

    Happy day everyone!

I found this one a while back and I'm leaning toward this being an rpm. However, since there appears to be no obvious match on Coppercoins, I have my doubts as well. I still have trouble with some of these late '80's rpm's There is one listing for a NW punched rpm, 1987D-1MM-012, but that one is not pictured. Just looking for others opinions. Thanks in advance!

Funny John- last night under the loupe it only looked flat and shelf-like, but now seeing your close ups I totally agree, almost certainly an RPM.

A hard call, but the way the doubling cuts into the serifs make me think it might be MD. Maybe Bob can see it in person...

This one's tough. My first impression is that it is an RPM. I would need to see it in hand to verify it though.

I agree that an in hand look and close exam would be needed before confirmation. I said MD based on pics but I will await the final attribution.

Hey John, I think it is machine doubling all the way. However, since I am wrong about 99.43953% of the time I would say..... Congrats!

The problem I'm having with this coin is that the secondary is flat - shelf like. I have seen a few like this of late and my guess would be MD. I hate possible RPM's like this if it is actually an RPM I would probably throw it back because of the shift, MD on the mintmark especially right around the PUP "Pick up point" I definitely would never purchase. Just my view....
