    A new page in the history of the Trail Die

    Just every once-in-awhile, you come across a surprise that leaves you wondering. I recently won a trail die nickel from Joey Kim that did take me by surprise. Here it is:



    While the trails seen are ordinary and like some other examples that are filed in traildies.com it is the date that makes this coin special.



    Yes, we do have trail dies in this era. However, they are all Proof strikes! This is a business strike and it now opens a new page in the trail die history.

        Yes, very interesting. I would still like to know what causes these trails to happen. Obviously the anomoly is not limited to any particular hubbing process. It's as though the hubbing was dragged along.
