    Possible 1928 Wheat Penny Error

Hello, I was searching through my wheat pennies yesterday and I came accross this one. It looks like its basically a big gouge, or more like a crackline in the coin. Since I spend all day on the internet, I figure 2 minutes of my time to make a post is not a big deal. Here are some pictures. Let me know what you guys think.

Struck me as PSD initially but I'm undecided after looking closer. There does not appear to be a bur on the edges of the anom, although, that may be due to wear. What is curious and makes it a possible strike through to my eye, is the interruption of the line at the lower part of the N and the way it stops short of running over the rim.

It appears to be to have been cut with a knife. If it were a die crack it would be raised. If it were a die gouge it would be raised like a die gouge SW of the "N" on cent. If it were a struck through it would be more rounded. So I just seeing PMD. Sorry

        Damaged with a cutting tool.

I was thinking PMD, and then the coin took a hit at the N, closing up the gap. That line is perfectly straight over a uneven surface. If it was a brissle from a wire brush, it would have moved a bit then it was struck.

            Welcome to the forum!
In that condition it would be hard to say it was anything but a slice in the coin. Nothing wrong with making an inquiry about it; keep up the hunt.
