Definitely not in the best shape, and was badly covered with corrosion and verdigris when I looked at it under the scope. A little treatment with Verdi-Care and some verification from friends, and it turns out to be this pretty scarce variety. Although you can't see the separation lines, the distortion in the date, the extra thickness of the devices, and evidence of notching (where the arrows show) proved that this was the DDO. I have only ever seen one of these before. Even though it is not a nice example, it is still an exciting find for me.

Nice find Bob. Like you said, not the best shape and cannot imagine it covered with grim, how you detected it before cleaning, but that would be something you could do. Not sure I would even see it without you pointing the areas out and then you can make it out. Great lesson here. -
Nice one Bob ! I've been on the lookout for that one..I guess my chances just decreasedComment

Great find Bob and even sweeter to find it under all the junk. This one has been on my radar for the past year and will continue to be until I snag one. Congrats.Rock
