I can never tell on these 2013 cents. Is there distortion on the 2 and thickness on liberty? Thanks!
Is there any thickness/distortion on 2013P?

There's some glare in the photos, but going by LIBERTY, I would say there is noticeable distortion...especially in the arm of the Y. Nice find!Comment

Definitely some strong extra thickness/distortion there. Have you tried matching it up on coppercoins.com? IF you can't find a match, may be a new one to get listed...but that's Bob's call.Comment

It's actually pretty simple. Try not to make too much of it. The word LIBERTY is supposed to have the same thickness throughout - there are no 'thicker' or 'thinner' parts to the letters. If there's any point where the vertical or horizontal parts are substantially (double) thicker than the other - you likely have a doubled die. There's nothing else that would cause that.
There are a vast number of cases where there is some very slight doubling (a little shift) in the letters, but it's the amount that makes them interesting, thus collectible and worth listing. I see very slight extra thickness in 1 out of every ten or so different dies I see from 2001 to date. Only about 1 in 1000 is actually worth listing.Charles D. This does not look like 1DO-001 to me. Die #1 has notching in the left arm of the "Y". The OP coin does not, but it does show extra thickness that seems to resemble some of the other listed dies for 2013. Check those.Looks like the 1DO 001 http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diest...&die_state=mds
