Would be nice if there were coins shows in my area but I don't think there is enough population to support having them. Very nice pick up.

Maybe I just am not understanding something....if this is a later die state
the crack to the left of the date...I understand
no crack between the B and E of liberty...I don't
the longer, heavier die crack on the reverse by the wheat on the left...I understand
no die chip between the T and the E of united.... I don't

now I can concede the reverse chip... maybe polished out?
and the crack on obverse? could it be there and so light that you didn't see it?
I agree this looks like the omm quoted... I am just questioning about these things....can anyone help me....

Steve: they all come to St.Louis..

Bob: Silver Dollar show, St. Louis - Thurs and Fri were good. Found quite a few items for my web page plus a few nice coins for my collection including a 30-D RPM#1 in AU55 Stage "C" and an 28-D That I think is RPM#1 in Fine.. I may post a pic of that one to see what you guys think.. I think it's a good hit. Came home with about 20 coins not bad for 7 hours on Thrs and 5 hours on Friday..

I am just wondering If the crack may be there and could the chip get polished?
just trying to learn how the die markers can change ...stage to stage...

Question on your recent trip to the coin show and what you were able to pick up. By pick up I am just confirming, you purchased these items. As a member of PCGS I can go on their site any time and find out what most coins are selling for on the marketplace or just click shop next to the coin and they do the shopping for me. Its the unusual stuff we often list here that is hard to pinpoint a value. I also realize that many members of this site will sell their finds to others here so this might make my request a little difficult and if so, would understand.

When going to a show I am also looking for things like this coin posted or the rare stuff we often discuss but have no idea what to offer or purchase and a price that would be reasonable. I would guess I am not the only one here having my thoughts on your listing as to what you were able to pay to get this coin. I fully understand if you got it for a great deal and want to list it to sell it here or anywhere for that matter, you would rather keep that info I am requesting private. But I would like to see a forum thread where if agreeable by the buyer, anything they purchase be listed with the purchase price of that item. It sure would be a help when I or anyone goes out to a show and could go to that thread and see what things are being sold for elsewhere.

Again, due to many who make a living or sell a great deal, you don't want too many people to know what you pay for items you then sell, but it would help in some cases for the hobbyist who just wants to add to their collection.

Hey Amadauss, It's a good question: Remember I've done this for better than 20 years so when I go to a show and pic something up, Like Chuck ALL the other dealers know what I do so they quote me a price and I pay it, as simple as that. What you missed in the thread above is I spent 12 hours at that show going through every dealers stock, you have to search for yourself don't expect a dealer to pull the coins for you, look them up and stage the coins then sell them to you cheap. Most dealers pay between $200-600 for a three day show. They do not care because it costs them time. You have to put the time in and make the effert to find the stuff, nothing more nothing less...

Look at the sale page on my site. You'll have an idea of trends of what i've sold or look at Brian Ribar's page and inventory his sold listings, it's a place for you to start!

High end coins expect to pay dealer grey sheet.

No doubt a later die state than shown on Wiles DVD book or on CC. Nice find Eric!
