1909 VDB from a bank roll

Always amazes me when I come across old copper still out there putting in work after 105 years of faithful service. And it's a bonus when it is the first year of a long series. Even better when I flipped it over and it had those legendary initials on the reverse!Though it may not be a valuable coin, this kind of find takes me back to my childhood. Way back before TPG's, and registries, and investment grades, and so on. If it was old and worn, it was treasure. Plain and simple. A nice way to start the morning, and a great reminder of simpler times...collecting for the joy of it.

It was in the fifth roll of the box, and the last that I've searched.
Maybe it's counterpart from San Francisco is lurking in there?

It is in amazingly good shape for that year. I agree that the VDB initials are a great bonus too! Congrats on a great find.

Agreed, as a kid when filling the folders I would be thrilled to fill any hole in the 1909-1940 folder. The grade really didn't matter as much as filling the holes and being happy doing it.

It has been a good year for found in rolls. Super nice find and VDB. I thought at first my bank mgr was setting me up.
But Also bought from others. In all the years I have searched rolls this the first year I ever found a Indian and now it's 3 lots of Lincolns earliest 1916 and 2 proof's 86 and 71. Started in 60's.
