    1942 doubled profile & ear

Luv the doubled profile on this one (1942P DDO-008) and also DDO-002. Also a nice doubled eyelid, ear, date parts of the motto, Y in LIBERTY and bow-tie.
No idea why it never received a CPG number.

    DDO-008
    1DO-002
    WDDO-003
    Class 4

I've never seen that one. Very interesring, especially the doubling at the nose. Good eye, I would've tossed it in the wheat pile thinking it was MD.
      As always, great photos!

I thought everyone knew about this doubled die (and the similar DDO-002 - 1DO-005). DDO-008 (above) has the doubling shifted almost south (weakest hubbing to strongest hubbing) whilst DDO-002 (below) shows the spread going southwest.

1942 was a great doubled die year for Lincolns!

I found a BU 1942 DDO-008 recently and didn't know what I had at first. I was hoping for die 6 (of course) but no match. I then though maybe die 2 but that didn't match either. I finally settled on die 8 after viewing Wexler's example. It's what I would call a double die that keeps giving--the more you look, the more you find. Steve

It's fun to find some of the sort of obscure doubled dies that don't get much attention and really a treat when they show up in unc.

One of the least likely to be seen or mentioned is 1942 DDO die-4. It's surprisingly easy to miss on coins with some wear and I've never heard of anyone finding an unc. It's also worth a lot more than many stronger doubled dies, maybe because it is in the CPG and so few are found. It's another coin to put on the radar.
