    1944 D possible DDO?

I was finally able to start going through a sack of misc. wheats this holiday. I ran across this 1944 D and the 44 have some anomaly issues that look like a possible DDO but I didn't see any DDO's in the research area. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Go find another 1944 cent and you find the same thing. Every 1944 cent looks the same. The last (1 or) 2 digits of the master die were engraved in those days so that the master hub could be re-used the following year by engraving new digits. Sometimes, the engraving was sloppy. 1944 was particularly bad engraving. This is a normal 1944 cent. See my link on the home page.

CONECA only list 2 reengraved dies and those are for 1953 http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20Ma...%20designs.htm however there are many more years of the dies being reengraved... Some exhibit what appears to be trenching around the head and vest areas while some were just on the date... Hope that helps a little!!!
