Here is a interesting coin I was attempting to attribute. It's closest match (actually an exact match) is 1DO-004. An interesting Double Die in itself with medium class 6 extra thickness and light class 5 spread on IBE of LIBERTY. What was missed is very nice class 2 spread on the date, which is actually visible on COPPERCOINS.com. On the reverse you find a nice medium class 6 extra thickness on EPU. There is a very strong die scratch that runs from the left wheat tip to the P of PLURBUS. The COPPERCOINS example shows the same die scratch but the die state is making the class 6 thickness very mushy.

What you are seeing on the 4s is a product of engraving.
I decided to collect here, in one place for your reference, all of the different forms of doubling that you may come across while searching Lincolns. There are many pitfalls on the path to recognizing the classes of doubled dies, so I endeavor here to show a comprehensive list, with illustrations, of all of the forms of“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.” -
I do not believe this is Copper Coins 004... Yours is much thicker on the date especially... Some of the items on the 44 (On the verticals) appear to be from reengraving... The die scratch you pointed out on the rev of yours is arched in the opposite direction of the 004 on Copper Coins... I looked thru Copper Coins DDO/DDRs for this date real quick and did not find a match to yours... It may be a new one??? Maybe Bob or Will could help???Jim

I just checked my coin for markers on the obverse and it has the die scratch under the R of TRUST (a very distinct one) and the circular die scratches around the ear. As I said in my original post, the die scratch off the left wheat tip is an easy pick-up. SteveComment

Good thing I do not do this for a living... I still do not believe this to be Copper Coins 004... The scratch from the west ear on yours arches up between the dot and the P and Copper Coins arches away from that area??? Could be my old age tho
No matter what it is still a nice looking coin!!!
