I bought this off ebay a couple weeks ago. I think it might be a new DDO. I did my best to show the coin under different angles of lighting to get a full view of the doubling. Please let me know if others agree it is a doubled eye.
That does look promising... When I zoomed in I see some either abrasions or die flow lines on that area so I am not to sure... Could be a ding ding well placed... One for the pros to look at for sure!!!

Those are some great photos. I am not so sure on the DDO though. I am having a hard time determining what is actually doubled. This one would require an in hand examination.

Thanks for looking Bob. To me in hand it looks like true doubling with a 10x loupe. Unfortunately with the scope it is very difficult to illustrate the doubling due to all the holder reflection. It definitely looks less like a true DDO in the photos I've taken. I've circled the area of interest below. I also provided a comparison photo for my PCGS coin and a separate 1928 PCGS coin that I don't feel has any doubling. It won't really fully answer your question as you are correct it requires an in hand. Hopefully Wexler gets through my current package in the next few weeks and I can send this one off!
In your second original shot there appears to be doubling south of the upper eyelid and then it disappears on all other shots. The upper one may also disappear with different lighting and positioning. I doubt the DDO.

Thanks for replying. Since I still feel it is a DDO in hand I'll make sure to update it's status once I send it to Wexler. I've been wrong before though.
