    I don't believe it is doubling, but it doesn't hurt to save it and see if you get an opposing opinion.

        It looks like the shape of the ear is compromised in that exact area, so I would say it is displaced/smashed metal from a hit. Damage.

          To me it looks like a die gouge... My eye/brain interconnect isn't working properly rite now I can not tell if it is incuse or in relief???

                      The mystery area is raised (not incuse).
                      I like the fact that I got four different answers. It takes different views to make the world go 'round.
                      Myself, I'm leaning toward a die gouge or loose metal that got stacked in a spurious fashion.
