My Greatest Pick!!! 1927-P DDO FS-101 PCGS MS65+RD

I have been very fortunate in my searches through shows/online, but this variety has always eluded me. Several purchases that I thought for sure were "the one", turned out to be nothing but flatness on the devices. Well that search came to fruition this week when a listing went up on eBay for a PCGS MS65+RD. Doubling could clearly be seen in Liberty, and I pounced on it. Got the coin today, and wow this is by far my best pick to date in my opinion. But enough about that, let's get to the coin!

Finding graded unattributed varieties is the creme de la creme for hunters. This coin is definitely gem with fully red original surfaces. A few significant hits keep it capped at MS65, but I can see why PCGS gave this coin a + designation for its luster. Doubling can be seen most predominantly in Liberty, IGWT, and slightly on the eye and date. Definitely one of my proudest picks so far.

    Back to hunting!

Edit: In case anyone wanted to see the listing for future hunts: http://www.ebay.com/itm/391733311982...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

          Oh, man...now THAT'S nice!

I thought I'd hit a 1943/2 Jefferson a few weeks back, but it was just some dirt looking like the "2".

          Fantastic pick and congrats!!

I've honestly been after this one for a long time! I think that later die state examples, even uncirculated ones, are very hard to attribute. Fortunately for you, you don't have that problem with this coin! What an awesome pick!

This coin is a beauty. I had never seen an ucnirc copy until Chuck Daughtrey picked one at a Sarasota coin show a couple years ago when I was there. As far as I am concerned, this one is under rated.

You hit it big on that coin!

It's a stunning coin with a plus and nice color!!!!

Agree with Magers, this variety is tough to attribute for me, a little wear and they sit in a flip with questionmarks. I've never found one that I'm sure is it.

                            Excellent pick and beautiful coin!!!
I need to double check mine, as I picked it years ago when I was green and if memory serves, it was only a fine or very fine. Might have to re-attribute my attribution after reading the trials of others here.

So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John

Thanks all for the positive feedback! Curious is anyone attending the Baltimore Show on Friday March 31. I just realized I've been a member of this board for 2 years now, but haven't met anyone.
