Could use some help here. I've been through the CC listings several times now and I can't attribute this RPM. Pulled several of them form a BU roll and its driving me up the wall. Don't expect investment of significant time but wondered if anyone recognizes it. The die crack at the tail of the 9 is a dead giveaway but I find no match. I will say that the photo image of the MM shows more detail than I could see through the scope on account of the glare so I will go back to the research as well.

What a pretty wheat cent, I can see how it would be blinding under a scope! Roller, I am no help, but always up for a challenge. I looked at every 58D RPM on coppercoins.com, varietyvista and doubleddie.com. Are you seeing a split upper serif, I'm not sure if I am seeing one, if so it's not as strong as the lower split. -
I don't see the tail on the 9 but any possibility it could be an EDS version of 1MM-014? The positioning looks correct and it looks like I can see some of the obverse markers. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mdsComment

Had to turn and prop up the coin for these shot and don't know how to straighten it out. It appears there is a faint split on the top serif as well. Anyway, after playing with this for far too long I consider that the RPM may be too minor to have been listed.Attached FilesComment

Roller, check out 15 too. There are very few that the mm positioning is even close on and I think 15 might be a better fit. After going back and looking 14 does not look quite right. I think yours is rotated slightly more clockwise like 15. Maybe see if any of the markers line up. Every now and then I can't quit messing with one, I'm like a dog with a bone. I cut the right edge off the mm but you can see the splits very well.Attached FilesLast edited by makecents; 10-21-2017, 08:30 AM.Comment

Thank you Roller for the updated images, and Jon for rotating it. I'm curious about coppercoins.com #22 https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...&die_state=mds
But that long die crack from T Trust... maybe yours is an earlier die state of that one? I'm like Jon, pretty darn determined and don't like to be defeated!Last edited by VAB2013; 10-21-2017, 09:12 AM.Comment

Okay, thank you Jon! Maybe Jim can get permission from Bob to try a couple of overlays for us, whichever ones you and Roller think is the most likely match. Not sure if Jim is busy today, does anyone else know how to do overlays?Comment

None of the 014 or 015 markers are present and the die flow lines are entirely different from the 015. Both 14 and 15 having an LDS image available, from the die state of this coin (which appears to be earlier) the die crack on the tail of the 9 should be present in the LDS examples if it were either of those.Comment
