Creating a single photo which can be used for documenting the die markers of an entire Lincoln Cent has been a goal of mine since 2009. It was the whole reason I got into coin photography in the first place, and has driven most of my my photographic learning and experimenting. I still have some refinements to make in lighting and such, but I feel like I have reached the goal, and it is already paying off in helping me to attribute varieties that have long been in my "rainy day" pile.

On 1DO-014/DDO-005... There are several markers on CCs 014 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds that match up quickly - The die gouge in the hair and also the die dot on the 5 however all of VVs 005 samples have damage to the 5 at the spot of the die dot... Both CCs 014 and VVs 005 http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20D...957DDDO005.htm show a die dot (gouge) south of the ER in LIBERTY that is not on yours... I would think yours is an EDS??? On the rev the only thing I see that may match CCs are some small die dots along the south side of the E of ONEs lower horizontal bar... There are still a couple on CCs MDS sample but not many??? I am in with EDS on both dies... I really like your photos!!!

I will come back for the other coin!!!

Added - I looked at the 2nd coin... Very nice... I can see why it would not show up after being in circulation for long...Excellent photos Ray!!!
