    A heavily damaged 52D RPM!!!

This is another coin the Ken (KLF) sent for me to look at... I have gone thru CC http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php and VV http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20R...Ms%201952D.htm with no luck... There is some serious PSD on the upper serif and the lower serif looks like some one beat it with a micro ball peen hammer... I have tried overlays with several of CCs listings and have come up empty... CCs 023 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds was the closest but with the date and jacket aligned the MM is slightly north and east... Even accounting for the advanced LDS of Kens coin the alignment does not work... Any input would be appreciated... This may be one that is just damaged beyond attribution???

Added - The last image is a 3D image as it allowed me to angle the image with out having to take pics of a coin or camera at strange angles!!!

Another nice job Jim!! This is one I have learned to toss in the appropriate bin and move on.

Did this one ever turn in to a 'Flying D'?

It looks like it should have been a Flying D... When I first looked at this I thought for sure it would be an EDS of CCs 031 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=mds but the crack does not have the proper shape!!!

Jim, thanks for all your work. I know you love a challenge, but maybe I need to cut back on damaged attributions. If you can't figure it out, it is probably not worth the effort. It was just that with the heavy split, figured it should be easy.

If I had access to Wexlers RPM files for the 52D I may have had better luck... He has not finished the update yet... You may want to hold onto this and the others until they can be checked against his files... Wish I could have found a match... I do love a good challenge but sometimes the coins beat me

Will do. Just stacking the abnormal ones away for a later date.
