Nice find... There is only one listed doubled ear for 1984P... Your pic is to blurry to tell for sure if it is the listed DDO??? See if you can find any markers - Here is a link to Copper Coins (CCs) listing for 1984P-1do-001 - Here is Variety Vistas (VVs) DDO-001, 1-O-IV and Wexlers WDDO-001... VV only has Stage A showing and CC has an EDS and MDS... Maybe yours is a new stage or a new DDO altogether??? Before I forget - There is also a FS number FS-101 (037)!!!Jim

There is so much for me to learn. To be honest I have no idea what stage it is. All you people impress me on here with all you know. I can try to find out what stage I think it is if I maybe I go to Wexler's or Whiles sites. I have to take better pics of a 71 I posted last night. Let me know if you would like better ones of the 84. I also have another 84 possible double ear of a different variety that I would like some opinions on. I suppose it could be a bubble but the position and shape of it suggest otherwise to me.

The die stage is how the die has been in use... An Early Die Stage (EDS) is when the die is first put into use... Mid Die Stage (MDS) is the mid life of the die and the Late Die Stage (LDS) is the old stage getting to the age of permanent retirement... Here is some info from Wexlers site on How Dies are Made and here is some info from the mint On your pics I think the plastic in the 2 x 2 is affecting the focus... Try getting coin pics out of the 2 x 2 I hope that helps a bit!!!Hey Thanks jfines69,

I found one right around the time I joined this group that has a possibility of being a new variety. I will see if I can post it tonight.Comment

Don't forget this one... We would like to make sure of what you have... I think the problem with your pics is the 2 x 2 you have them in... The camera is trying to focus on the clear plastic and your light source is reflection from the plastic back into the camera lens... If you can remove the coin from its holder that should help clear up the images at least half way???Jim

Thanks jfines69,
Actually I did remove it from the holder. My phone I guess just stinks. Can you tell me what these people use that take such good pictures?
I must have gotten this post mixed up with another one. Sorry.Last edited by Doubledood; 05-27-2019, 04:21 AM.Comment

No I didn't. The other 1984 is a totally different coin. It's I was just hoping to get some thoughts on it. I'm waiting to get set up for better picture. Then at that point I'll post them. Hopefully all goes well. I haven't used that camera in a long time, but it still works good.
Thanks,
Brad

A lot of folks use a USB scope... They take good pics... Vivien (VAB2013) should be able to help you with that... I never could get a USB scope or my fone to take pics worth a darn so I got me a Ray system and image stacking softwareNo I didn't. The other 1984 is a totally different coin.
