Primary mintmark placement looks more Southwest then 1MM-001. This one is barely a split serif, and I'm pretty sure it's not on CC. The question is is it listable?

Hello Dan! Nice to see you posting! I'm not saying yours is this one, but yours looks more like CC 1983D-1MM-008 to me. Sorry I am horrible at seeing MM positioning and my overlay program stopped working but it looks like your MM is too far south for 008.

If I were still attributing, and based on the scarcity of most early 1980s era RPMs, I would list this one. It does indeed look like RPM-008 on coppercoins, but the MM position seems wrong.

I thought the mint mark on cc 001 was close, and 001 has a die crack on column 12 and mine does also. CC 008, none of the markers match mine, Here are a couple of images of the reverse. This leads me to believe that it could be a new RPM. Thank you and Viv, for your response.........Dan

Nice work on this one Dan and great pics!! Very unusual to find one that the zinc rot hasn't attacked yet. Congrats on what looks like a new variety!

              Thanks for chimming in Bob

Dan, No offence, I'm not a betting man, I wouldn't have bet on this one!

Nice find... We know it's not CCs 001 because the location is off... The split upper serif and location of the lower section of the secondary MM does not match... As for the rev markers don't forget that opposing dies can and do get changed out... I'm with Bob on the MM location/position being off for CCs 008... Yours is to far south and 008 the MM looks to be rotated CCW compared to yours!!!

Then my assumption is right about it being a new RPM. Well I can't feel bad about that, I like finding new RPMs, it will be added to my collection of new finds. Thank you Jim for your comments and help. And as the stooges would say "TOO THE HUNT!" yuk, yuk, yuk.........................Dan
