    1988 d RPM CC 001?

Found this well circulated 1988 D making it difficult to attribute, at first I thought this was MD due to the upper look on the top of the mint mark, however I don't see any MD on the date, also mine took a hit on the bottom right of the mint mark somewhere along the way. I do see some trail lines on the bottom of LIBERTY that seem to match CC 001. Please have a look and tell me your thoughts............dinkyblue

Based on the condition and plating damage, this one is difficult at best. The possible trail lines you point out on top of LIBERTY are opposite of the ones on the coppercoins site. The ones below the I to not have the exact same direction as the plate coin. Off hand, I would say no to this being the RPM-001.

That's all right with me Bob, it not being an RPM I have enough RPMs as it is, so many I will never attribute all of them, and some of them like this one will not be RPMs at all. Thanks for you answer.................Dan

That is a tough one... The MM placement looks close but with the damage it is difficult to tell... The best I could do is an overlay but that may not tell us much???
