jfines, if there was a doubled ear that had been found and a number assigned to it or a bunch and dinkyblue was trying to match his too one, the die markers would have been noted by the attributor of the DDO. Or maybe I am thinking of different markers. I thought DB had mentioned that he didn't find any information on a doubled earlobe for a 2016 D.
Oddly, I was searching a roll of pennies my daughter gave me for Chrismas and ran across a penny identical to this. I remember looking through the big 3 looking for information for previous DDO's and found nothing for an earlobe. For some reason, I put it in the cull pile. I don't remember the date but it was a shield. Of course, today the wife grabbed all of the coin (she wanted the halves) and took it to the bank today. Now I want that penny back. lol I kinda thought mine looked like a hit, but it looked very similar to these coins.
Don't forget that not all markers are noted and different attributors may note different markers... If I am trying to match markers and can not find the noted markers I look for other markers in the available images... On Dans coins in this thread there are a few items that look to be good markers but I am not 100% sure this is a doubled earlobe??? That would need to be decided by one of the pros thru an in hand look!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
