This is a weird RPM. I need to take more photos of it but its Tripled on the bottom. With a ball seriff to top it off. Let me know what you think????
1944S Dramatic RPM and unlisted.

I will just set it aside then look over things when my head clears up. April has not been kind to me and coins have literally been playing jokes on me. Im not to fond of it and dont understand why I have been out of sorts lately with coins. Im in a slump I would call it. Im just going to take your word for it and look at it at a later time when Im more focused Bob. Thank you.Life is not about greatness but on the impact of good onto others. I think it looks like a possibility, and you know I'm a tough sale. But, as Bob says, there seem to be a lot of of bumps are bruises in the area that could be mimicking an rpm.Last edited by willbrooks; 04-13-2020, 02:44 PM.All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. I just realized that the die wear is tripled on left of ball serif???? If die wear is tripled then why is it? Also ball serif is correct size if it was damaged to make a triple then ball serif would be smaller. This is up for debate.Attached FilesLast edited by Jacob; 04-13-2020, 03:14 PM.Life is not about greatness but on the impact of good onto others. It is a matter of how much one shines. Soooooo, why didn't you mark the tripling to the South? Look at that same picture. There is a tripled lower serif and curl that is way more convincing than what you just noted. All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. The lower right curve (red arrows) looks like a hit to me. I dont see any tripled serif. The bottom of the MM (red 123) is whats sketchy to me. Looks almost broken or possible RPM, or just deterioration. I would send it to Wexler to be for sure and have it listed, if it is anythingLast edited by kloccwork419; 04-13-2020, 04:09 PM.Comment

The problem we have is this is a very worn coin. Plus to me the stuff to the west could just be die wear or circ damage. Not my coin but I would throw it back and keep going..Comment

VV lists 2 MMSs for the 44S - MMS-005 (Straight Serifs) and the MMS-006 (Ball serif, with flat spot on lower ball)... To me it looks like a later die stage with the flow lines... Maybe some abrasions from polishing but the lower serif and curve looks like a hit... Just to the SW of the 2nd 4s SW corner is a gouge in the coin and it appears to be in alignment with the damage on the lower curve???Jim

That's the part that confuses me the most. Because top clearly shows evidence it is MM-05 but bottom shows evidence of both. Even if it took hit on bottom the ball section is too big to match the MM-06 unless both were combined. Does that sound about right? That is the only thing I can make sense of. I'm trying to figure out coin but with damage to certain areas and servere die wear on right and left of mint mark I can't really come to a conclusion. The die wear going to the right top shows a different style mint mark altogether and yes MM-06. The die wear going to left bottom shows a style of MM-05. The die wear is showing the colors in an odd red color. The extra mintmark that I marked shows evidence of MM-006 based on more of a straight line on the curved section. MM-05 is completely curved with no straightness going on the edge of right bottom S coming in to the top section of S. This is just a coin that I will put aside for a later time while I observe it more and try to figure out what really is going on. Plus I need to work on very clear photos to even understand what is really going on. This is just going to have to be inconclusive in mean time.VV lists 2 MMSs for the 44S - MMS-005 (Straight Serifs) and the MMS-006 (Ball serif, with flat spot on lower ball)...
