Looks spot on to me. Wexler's 002 (https://doubleddie.com/959799.html) shows vertical die scratches under the 9 that line up with yours. Nice find and catch.

I think it is because I see the die scratch off the lower tip of the nine headed straight south just as seen in Wexler's pic of the mint mark.
A couple of other die scratches to the west also seem to match.
