Does this look like a new RPM for 1929? Thanks for looking.

I don't know Larry. Something about it doesn't sit right. The photo is too blurry (for me) to see enough detail to determine if there is actually 2 mint marks. This one may need an in hand look. Now, having said that, what do you think? You're the one holding it, looking at it and you've got experience under your belt. What do you see?

The fact that the doubling is mostly the entire way around the mint mark, I would be doubtful of an RPM. Especially to the North and South, it is strong. The South is simply highlighted by some grime. Looks more like heavy die wear and some dirt to me. Clean it up and have another look. All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. Rock and Will, Thanks for responding and commenting!! I have taken a few more pics but still not sharp. I see a protrusion off the lower left leg of the S and it extends east gradually getting thinner. I think it could be a doubled die and it could also be machine doubling. Thanks, LarryComment

Larry, your new photos, especially the B/W one are better and looking at the mint mark with the date, I would almost have to say they both show Die Deterioration Doubling.Rock

Hello folks,
I would like to see what is inside the lower loop. that might help to verify if an RPM or not. Can you see anything inside the lower loop of the primary "S" Larry that would help us give you and idea? I'm on the fence, I hate circs because damage, wear everything comes into play. The photo's need to be in focus and spot on to decide. Lighten it up Larry and lets see the detail, May help us give you a better accurate idea if an Un listed RPM.. Or Not...

Thanks for your interest Eric!! I will try to clean it up so I can see inside the lower loop. As for the pics I will try to do better after I try to clean it up. However, I am not confident my pics can be much better given what I am working with. I will get back to you and all others as soon as I can. LarryComment

Well I cleaned it up some and took some more pics, but I'm not able to see what is in the lower loop. It could be a new RPM or it could not be a new RPM. I will just mark it as such and maybe someone will find a match. Thanks all for your interest and responses. LarryComment

That separation is pretty strong.
Nice one Larry but I'm with Rock (Hasfam) about feeling it being die deterioration (from die polishing?).
If you look at the tails of the 9's, they are extended in the same direction.Comment
