    Does anyone recognize this...

    1943P DDR?

Picked this up recently without attributing it beforehand, but still am not able to ID the variety.
Looks to be medium class vi doubling mostly to the upper west side of the reverse with obverse die cracks and a clash at the throat. Minor die scratch headed SW from the 9 of the date.

Thanks -- Any assistance would be appreciated.

I did a double-take on that when I first saw it , but unfortunately I do not believe it is that variety. The doubling isn't as thick and the die cracks are in different places.

I haven't figured it out, yet.

            I think Jim nailed it.
CC images for 009 seem to show lots of die deterioration and cracks. (Late Mid Die State to me.)
T's coin looks to be a VEDS, but it even has die cracks showing on it.

There appears to be a wide raised line inside the upper center of the O(ONE) and going WSW. Also, the first dot is oval and the second dot is more circular on your example.
Also there looks to be a light die crack going west from the tip of the left wheat to the rim on T's coin which seems to be present on the CC images.
