    1944S DDR-001 (for Jean's reference)

    Listed as DDR-001 (1-R-VI), 1DR-004 (MDS) and WDDR-011.

Strong extra thickness on EPU and the upper wheat stalks that show slight speration; I believe I see a notch on the lower right leg of the second S in STATES. Looks like a hybrid of class II and VI (as listed on CC). Die markers: concentric die scratches in the motto and the underside of the bust along with MM positioning.

Hey Jason... such a beautiful coin you have! Thank you for posting it.
My coin has a faint die scratch behind the OD WE, a possible die scratch to the east of VDB on the edge of the jacket sleeve. On the reverse the bottom cross bar of the E is too worn to see a separation, and the last A in America has a big surface gouge where the notch is suppose to be. This coin is so dark I am wondering if someone had dyed it.. if that is even possible.
Thank you for your tireless work Jason.
    Jean

Very nice DDR and coin. I know that class 6 DDR wheats are not very popular with some collectors, maybe because there seems to be a lot of them, but I like them a lot. Thanks for sharing.
