Upon revisiting my '54-Ss, I found this. The die lived a long life and eventually ends up as the "San Jose" cent [in stage J].
Appears to match up as 002, but as far as the stage/state I am not sure. Maybe somewhere around E, F or G. The reverse has many die flow lines around the rim, but no die chips in the wheat ears and no cracks at the rim.
I do see the little "stinger" at the bottom of the 9 and I see a little die chip inside the 4 that I don't see in the images past stage E.
