1944-S DDO-003/RPM-005
Found this copy re-searching my hoard. Cannot confirm for sure: Just using the date/mm location and the possible extra eyelid. The coin is in sad shape and I can't even tell if the mint mark is doubled on the bottom serif.
I have several hundred 44-S's and my estimation is that the ball serif mm was only used on about 5-10% of coins. All of the ball serif coins that I identified were on or above the bottom of the 9, except for this copy [which is lower than].
VV
edit: Added another pic showing a possible marker: The ball serif is supposed to look something like a lobster claw so it is somewhat mangled [arrow].
