From what I see, especially in your "UNI" image, looks to be notching and separation to me.

That coin needs to be examined by attributers. If I could be on the list to examine it would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Billy (dvn)

I cannot tell, the pics are big enough but the images are too blurry. I'll say that MD on proof coins can be deceptive; is there notching?

      EDIT: Billy got here first...

Thank you Billy. I will send this over to have it attributed,as soon as I get a PM with
the address for mailing. You certainly will be on the list of attributers. It is a pleasure to
        work with you all.

Jason I have isolated all characters and zoomed in and out. Most of them have notching
present and separation. I only wish I were as good a photographer as you are. Maybe someday my prayers will be answered.

We will wait for Billy's analysis, and I hope I am wrong, but IMHO, I think this is all machine doubling, along with glare on the pics.

Received Lucien's 1988-S Proof Lincoln cent. Completing an extensive examination of the coin, I was unable to detect any doubling. Also, mechanical doubling nor any strike doubling/flat-shelf doubling was not present on the coin either.

Wish I had better news. The only thing I can think of is the lighting glare created on Lucien's image a mirror feedback which on proofs can happen.

Below is a photo I took of the word UNITED. It is perfectly normal, as well as the rest of the reverse and also the obverse.

It could be camera movement (shake) creating the image - or as suggested some sort of reflection. I would suggest using a tripod or a monopod to stabilize the camera...

Thanks Billy the glare certainly distorted the view of the images. I will try to reduce that in my pics which were taken in the open on a sunny day.

That is something to remember when buying a coin on-line... A person knowing how the reflection can make it appear doubled can sell to the unaware buyer... Thanks for that info... Maybe next LC Lucien!!!

Yes Aisha, Bob did make the right call.

However, with that said, as an attributer I always follow the cardinal rule that actual examination of the coin is required before making a final determination.
