WASHINGTON - Sales will open for the 2013 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set (product code SV9) on January 8, 2013, at noon Eastern Time (ET). The set contains proof quality coins with reverse (tails side) designs honoring White Mountain National Forest (New Hampshire), Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial (Ohio), Great Basin National Park (Nevada), Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine (Maryland), and Mount Rushmore National Memorial (South Dakota). All coins were struck at the United States Mint at San Francisco in 90 percent silver. The obverse of the coins (heads side) bears a restored version of John Flanagan's 1932 portrait of George Washington.
